The Roche Innovation Center Zurich (Schlieren, Switzerland) is active in the research and development of engineered therapeutic antibodies, with a focus on the fields of cancer immunotherapy and immunotherapy in general. Part of the Roche Group since 2005, it employs about 180 people.

This internship offers the opportunity to work in the Analytics Chapter in close collaboration with the Oncology department to deepen our biological understanding and ultimately develop new medicines.

Your main tasks and responsibilities also include:
  • Develop interactive visual analytics tools for high-dimensional biological data including flow cytometry, cytokine expression, immuno-histochemistry and RNA expression from in vivo studies in the area of cancer immunotherapy

  • Use R Shiny or equivalent technology

  • Work together closely in a cross-functional team of biologists and data scientists. Frequent communication and coordination is required

  • Provide trainings to beginners and advanced users

You are enrolled in or have recently completed your Master degree (not longer than 12 months ago) within computational biology, biology, biotechnology, informatics, computational science, mathematics pharmaceutical sciences, engineering or a related field. You are motivated to increase and share your theoretical and practical knowledge on this emerging and exciting field of data science and biology. You are an enthusiast of new technologies and you easily show engagement with people.

We are looking for the following qualifications:
  • Good programming skills in R. SQL, bash and Python is a plus

  • Experience in quantitative biological data analysis

  • Basic biological understanding, preferably in immunology and oncology

  • Talent and interest in designing elegant and functional visualization solutions

  • Good communication skills, ability to work in a team and independent

  • Written and verbal English is mandatory
